Lao P.D.R. 6th Edition
In Laos, the Science Film Festival took place in 16 villages and 16 schools during November and December 2017. It intended to raise particular awareness of environmental topics among the the communities. The screenings and activities were carried out by a team of 12 volunteers with diverse backgrounds, some being associates of Youth from Mind Media, government staff in the department of natural and environmental resources of Boualapha district and others. In total, the festival reached 3,684 viewers at the screenings.

Participatory Development Training Center (PADETC)
I used to work for the National Television for more than twenty-five years. We produced spots, music videos, and movies. Then I moved to the Participatory Development Training Center (PADETC) where I am working now. Here, my team and I have been producing documentaries on environment, agriculture, health, education. Most of my time, I act as a trainer and advisor to the government agencies and CSOs operating in Laos for production of documentaries. I have been also invited to be a member of the jury committee of the Cinema Department for short film contest produced by Lao youth.
Deputy Director of the Mass Media Department
Lao National Television
Inpone worked for the National Television for almost 30 years. He was the first reporter of international news for Lao PDR. He produced documentaries for JICA in Thailand and for Singapore. His documentary “Lao Skirts” is being broadcast through Thai TV today. His expertise was recognized by AIBD. He is also a resource person of mass media and TV program production. Sometimes, he acts as a jury for film and magazine contests. At present, he is the deputy director of the mass media department. His responsibility is to manage mass media products in Lao PDR.
After working for various NGOs for more than twenty-five years, Bounthanh decided to develop a reading and writing culture among Lao youth. He trains young journalists, writers, primary, secondary and university school students in writing fiction, non-fiction, screenplays, photography and making documentary films and dramas. Two of his books: Life Lessons, and Land Is Life won Best Book of the Year awards in 2008 and 2009.
