South Africa 1st Edition
The Science Film Festival in South Africa took place between October 16 and November 1, counting with the support of three partners. UNIZULU, a science centre in the province of KwaZulu-Natal with a rural target group, hosted seven screenings reaching 913 learners and 30 teachers. Due to their rural location, the audience members who attended screenings at UNIZULU were deeply grateful for the opportunity to watch high-quality science films. The eight screenings hosted by the Christoph Meyer Maths and Science Centre reached a total of approximately 600 learners, five teachers and 60 community members. The SciEnza Science Centre in Pretoria, the country’s capital, screened three films for 177 learners and three teachers from three schools. Overall, the Science Film Festival reached 1,800 visitors in its inaugural year in South Africa.
