To be awarded with a Nobel Prize in science is the most honorable distinction in the world. Our story begins with a discovery in 1985. This breakthrough was rewarded with the Nobel Prize for chemistry in 1996 - a day of glory for the discoverers. But how come, it also aroused the interest of the public? Usually particles of those vacuum-cleaned labs do not see the light of the broad public interest. The exception was with this crystalline form of a molecule, called C60.
