Adelina Popnedeleva

Adelina Popnedeleva was born in Sofia, Bulgaria where she currently lives and works. She graduated from the National Academy of Art in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1988. In 2008 she received a PhD in Art History and Fine Arts at the National Academy of Art, where she has been an Associate Professor since 2012. She works in the fields of object, installation, performance, video art and photography. In 2008 she was awarded with the Gaudenz B. Ruf Award for New Bulgarian Art in the category of established artists. In 2010, her documentary movie Fresh was awarded with a honorary diploma from the 18th Festival of Bulgarian Documentary and Animated Film Golden Riton. Among her recent solo exhibitions are: Intimate in Public, Resonance Gallery, Plovdiv, Bulgaria, 2011; Fresh, Bulart Gallery, Varna, Bulgaria, 2011; and 4 and a half weeks - Part II, Art Alley Gallery, Sofia, Bulgaria 2011. Her works are owned by the Museum of Applied Decorative Art, Sofia, Bulgaria; Democracy Foundation, Sofia, Bulgaria; Sofia City Art Gallery, Bulgaria; Vitosha Gallery, Sofia, Bulgaria; BBI (Belluard Bollwerk International), Fribourg, Switzerland; Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, Berlin, Germany; and private collections in England, Italy, Belgium, Germany, France, Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
