Along with the numerous cultural events that have been organized during the literature and arts tour “Yollarda”, photographers from Belgium, Hungary and Turkey visited different stops along the tour. The participating artists were chosen by Contretype in Brussels (supported by Wallonie-Bruxelles International), the Hungarian House of Photography in Budapest and Istanbul Bilgi University’s departments of Visual Communication Design and Photography & Video.

The Belgian photographer Francois Goffin visited the central-Anatolian cities of Kütahya, Konya and Kayseri, whereas Philippe Herbet examined the contrasting neighborhoods of Istanbul. The Hungarian photographer Krisztián Bócsi worked in the southern cities of Antakya, Adana and Mersin, while Gyula Sopronyi traveled along the Mediterranean coast to Antalya, Mugla and Izmir. Finally, the Turkish photographers Refik Anadol and Alican Aktürk explored Brussels, whereas Efe Mert Kaya and Maurizio Braggiotti captured their impressions of Pécs, one of the three European Capitals of Culture 2010.

The exhibition “Human Landscapes” showed a selection of these eight artists’ work, which was continued on to be shown in Hungary and Istanbul. The photographers were present at the opening in Brussels.
