Here we introduce you to internationally renowned German artists and artists working in Germany who are currently in Residence in New England and who will give public performances and lectures.
Many of the over 150 Universities and Colleges in and around Boston offer artist residencies, lasting between 2 weeks and 6 months. Usually, the University approaches the artist and extends an invitation. One of the artists’ responsibilities during their residency is to give lectures and be available for discussions and talks on their work. They also teach a class for students or create a work on site (dance or film production, or writer’s workshop).
The residency gives the artists the opportunity not only to work on their own projects - without any time or money restraints - it also inspire them to new works and ideas.
