1. General Requirements
Unless otherwise stated, course participants must be at least 18 years of age.
2. Payment
2.1. Payment of course fee is due upon registration. Payment can be made by credit card (VISA or Mastercard) online secure via PayPal or by check.
2.2. As long as payment has not been received, the Goethe-Institut cannot guarantee a spot in a course. In this case the Goethe-Institut retains the right to require payment of the course fees.
3. Cancellation Policy
3.1. Cancellation of your registration is subject to a $50 administrative fee.
For 5/10/12 week courses:
The remaining balance will be refunded, minus the cost of the attended sessions plus a $50 administrative fee, if cancellation is submitted within 5 working days after the first class session. Beyond this period refunds are no longer possible!
For 1/2 week courses:
Due to the intensive nature of our short classes, requests for refunds must be submitted prior to the start of the second class session/class meeting. Requests made after this time will not receive a refund.
3.2. Requests for a refund must be submitted in writing. Arrival at the Goethe-Institut is considered the determining factor.
4. Prices
The prices listed in the current Goethe-Institut Boston Language Course Brochure at the time of registration are considered final.
5. Placement/Class Size
5.1 Course placement recommendations are made on the basis of Placement Test results.
5.2. Unless otherwise indicated, a course will have a maximum of 16 participants. When a minimum of 8 participants is not reached by the first week of class, we reserve the right to cancel the course. Should a proposed course not be offered due to insufficient registration, we will offer the registered participants the option to either switch to another course or receive a complete refund.
6. Responsibilities of Participants
Participants are obliged to comply with the course and house rules of the Goethe-Institut Boston.
7. Liability of the Goethe-Institut
The liability of GI and its staff is limited to intent and gross negligence. GI also accepts no liability for the cancellation of its services due to force majeur (e.g. natural disasters, fire, floods, war, official orders and all other circumstances beyond the control of the contractual parties).
8. Weather-related cancellations
All weather-related cancellations will be announced on our telephone-messaging system the day of class.
