Exam Start Deutsch 1 (A1)

Start Deutsch 1 is a language test for assessing adults' knowledge of German. It is conducted jointly by the Goethe-Institut and Weiterbildungs-Testsysteme GmbH (WBT). The exam is written and evaluated world-wide under uniform standards. The Start Deutsch 1 examination documents the first level – A1 – of the six skill levels described in the Common European Framework for Languages. 'A' designates the ability to use language at a basic level.
