US group in Chicago on November 2009

The International Association of Teachers of German (IDV), the Goethe-Institut USA and the AATG invited US students (middle / high school) to participate in the International German Olympics (Internationale Deutscholympiade). This world-wide competition will take place in July 2010 in Hamburg, Germany. In the final round in Hamburg, the two finalists of each participating country will compete in the areas of German language competence and knowledge about Germany.

National Preliminary Round USA was held at the Goethe-Institut Chicago on November 12 and 13, 2009

The Goethe-Institut Chicago selected the finalists for the International German Olympics from among the 13 best US candidates during a national contest which was held at the Goethe-Institut Chicago on November 12 and 13, 2009.
German teachers only were allowed to nominate two candidates (16 years or older) to participate in the national preliminary round (maximum of two candidates per school).
