Daniela Dahn "The Fall of the Wall and the End of the GDR - Twenty Years After."

Born 1949 in Berlin, Daniela Dahn grew up in Kleinmachnow, near Berlin.
She studied Journalism in Leipzig until 1973 and worked as a journalist until 1981, when her employment was terminated for ideological reasons.
Dahn was a freelance writer in Berlin since 1982. In the fall of 1989 she became a founding member of “Democratic Resurgence”.

Daniela Dahn has held residencies at several universities in the USA and in the United Kingdom.
She serves on the Executive Board of PEN and lectures internationally.
Daniela Dahn is the recipient of many literary awards including, the Fontane-Preis, Berlin-Preis, Tucholsky-Preis, and the Louise-Schroeder-Medal.
