Translator Peter Constantine was chosen to receive the Helen and Kurt Wolff Translator's Prize by a jury of five for his translation of the novel The Bird is a Raven (Der Vogel ist ein Rabe) published by Alfred Knopf in 2006. The honor was presented to him by the Consul General of Germany in Chicago, Wolfgang Drautz, on Monday, June 11, 2007 in the Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E. Washington, Chicago.
