Icons of a Border Installation: Photographic Search for Traces in Today’s Berlin

Exhibition
March 3–December 21, 2009
Various locations
On November 9, 2009 Germany will celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall. The Goethe-Institut San Francisco uses this occasion to bring the photo exhibition Icons of a Border Installation to North America and will present it at 12 locations. Icons of a Border Installationdocuments the search for traces of young students from the University of Paderborn under the direction of Prof. Barbara Becker and the photographer Jürgen Spiler.

Here we have put together a Diashow of the exhibition.

Extensive teaching materials accompanying the exhibition Icons of a Border Installation are now available on the website of the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG Northern California). A CD-ROM with the teaching materials is also available at the Goethe-Institut San Francisco.
