To understand the history of Berlin, it’s necessary to understand the history and the impact of Jewish life on the city. When Daniel Libeskind created the first plans for the Jewish Museum just a year before the Berlin Wall came down, he had in mind that only through the acknowledgement and incorporation of the erasure and void of Jewish life in Berlin, can the history of Berlin and Germany lead to a more positive human future.
Even before its opening in September 2001, the Jewish Museum was overwhelmed with its success. With over 8 million visitors from 40 countries, it has become the most visited cultural attraction in Berlin. One thing is certain: the Jewish Museum’s architecture is anything but conventional – just like the district around it!
Question: In which district of Berlin can you find the Jewish Museum?
