Our upcoming reading of all poetry in its native language and English translation celebrates elements of life in a modern metropolis.
Featuring readings in person by local poets Grace Cavalieri, Kim Roberts, and Davi Walders.
Interspersed with commentary by our consultants about the poems and the art of translation.
Moderated by Dr. Lane Jennings, project consultant.
What does it mean to be a national citizen, a city-dweller, and yet someone who identifies with inherited culture in great urban areas such as Berlin, Beijing, Taipei, and Washington DC? Poems from three cultures present common elements of life in a modern metropolis. Take a walk through Chinatown to discover the changing monthly display.
