Film|Neu 2011
The 19th edition of Film|Neu, Washington's annual showcase of new cinema from Germany, Switzerland and Austria, took place January 21-27, 2011.
Following the closing film, Mahler on the Couch, guests enjoyed a closing party at the Goethe-Institut. Door prizes were raffled off. Congratulations to Adam, the winner of our Grand Prize, a language course here at the Goethe-Institut.
Film critic Eddie Cockrell announced the Audience Favorite Films. Third place goes to Matti Geschonneck's Berlin, Boxhagener Platz; second to the opening film, When We Leave; and the winner of this year's festival is Ralf Huettner's film production Vincent Wants to Sea.
We want to thank everyone for this wonderful week. A special thank you to all of our volunteers who supported us in various ways during the last week to make this a successful and enjoyable festival. We wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you at Film|Neu 2012!
