A tragic love triangle, greed and the relentless search for money and power come together in Lukas Bärfuss’s Oil. This powerful, wickedly funny play challenges the materialistic values of Western civilization and questions the morality of our pursuit of the world’s most sought-after commodity: oil.
Lukas Bärfuss (b. 1971) is a freelance dramatist, prose writer and theatre producer in Zürich. He co-founded the 400asa Theatre Group, and is the recipient of many prizes. Bärfuss is known for his razor-sharp examination of the pressing questions of our time, of the conflicts in society and of the afflictions of individuals.
