Austria/Germany, 2009, 35mm, 93 min., Director: Lilian Franck, Robert Cibis
Pianists in search of perfection: Stefan Knüpfer provides an insight into his life as the chief technician and head tuner of Steinway & Sons. His encounters with professional musicians from all over the world, such as Alfred Brendel and Lang Lang, display unique situations of humor and striving for excellence.
Robert Cibis and Lilian Franck have collaborated on several films in addition to the award-winning Pianomania. Their documentary Half a Chance (Halbe Chance) received the Next Generation’s German/French Journalism Award. They share in the management of the film production company Oval Filmemacher.
