About the Project

Youth Parliament
Latin America – Europe – Africa: a dialogue that makes bonds

100 Latin American, European and African youngsters will comprise the international youth parliament in July 2010.

From the 5th until the 11th of July 2010, the first International Youth Parliament will take place in Montevideo, in which 100 Latin American, European and African youngsters will take part. This project is organized by the Goethe-Institut from Uruguay, together with the PASCH initiative and receives 80% of its funding from the European Union. It will be the first international project organized by the Goethe-Institut within the framework of the campaign “Youngsters for the world” and will gather together students from 10 nations.

The subject matter of this future Workshop is multilingualism and a sustainable international political education. Its purpose is to provide youngsters with a scope of the global integration processes, and to raise awareness, as globalists, of the shared identity that brings their people together. “No Excuse 2015” is the slogan, as well as the guiding topic of this multicultural Youth Parliament in which strategies to achieve the Millennium Goals will be presented and discussed.

From January 2010 onwards a preparatory stage will take place, when simulations and workshops will be held in Mexico, Uruguay, Argentina and Ivory Coast.
