Are you interested in Germany? Then the library of the Goethe-Institut Hanoi is perfect for you. Our selection of contemporary German literature ranges from children's books to works by Nobel laureate Günter Grass. Magazines such as Focus, Stern and Spiegel are always available, so that you can stay informed about current social and political issues in Germany. In the cultural field the library of the Goethe Institute also has much to offer: in addition to wide-ranging offerings about art, we can also provide an entertaining insight into the cultural life of Germany through DVDs and audio books.
You don’t (yet) understand German? No problem. In our library, you will not only find literature in German, but also new translations of contemporary German books into Vietnamese. For German teachers and learners there are reference books, encyclopedias and a variety of GFL learning and teaching materials.
Integrated into the rooms of the library you will find the self-study center, the most modern and best equipped learning center for German in Vietnam, an ideal learning environment for German as a foreign language. At the 12 multimedia PCs with headsets and internet access, numerous interactive online and offline educational programs are available. Current teaching and learning materials from many GFL publishers are available for all levels as reference only and may be used in the learning center at any time. Here regular consultation and training for students and teachers of German also takes place. A library card is required to use and borrow books and media. Access to and use of the self-study center are free for all students and members of the Goethe Institute with a membership card.
