Twelve year old Kattaka is shocked when on Christmas Day she accidentally finds out that the man she has ever since been calling “dad” is not her biological father. Furious and disappointed by her parents’ lie she embarks with the help of 75-year-old neighbor Lena and her VW van on a journey to Poland to search for her father who is working as a seaman on a ship. Halfway through the trip Kattaka and Lena discover a stowaway who is looking for an adventure and wants to accompany them. An exciting road trip begins on which not only Kattaka discovers where she belongs to, but also Lena has to finally face the fears of her past.

This extraordinary road movie has won “Best Children’s Film” at the German Film Award 2012 and promises excellent entertainment for the whole family.
