Biography


Born on 14 October 1972 in Ovamboland/ Namibia


1976 flees the country and stays in the refugee camp Nyango in Zambia

1979 Asylum in the GDR together with 80 children from the refugee camps, housed in a SWAPO children’s home at the country mansion Bellin in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

1985 Relocation to a boarding school in Sachsen-Anhalt

1990 Return to Namibia, lives in Windhoek/Namibia

1994 Matric Certificate (Abitur) at the German High Scholl Windhoek

from 1995 studies journalism in Windhoek

since 2000 editor with the German station of the state owned Nambian Broadcasting Cooperation (NBC)

2004 Publication of the autobiographical account “Kind Nr. 95: Meine deutsch-afrikanische Odyssee”/ Lucia Engombe. Recorded by Peter Hilliges

2008 reading tour in Germany
