The reason why the call for there to be a German "Leitkultur" fizzled out no doubt has something to do with these blue signs. Whatever do we need a "Leitkultur" for when we have such a perfect system of road signs? It is impossible to get lost on the German autobahn as the white arrows lead us to every corner of the country. Thanks to the government for that.Federal Highway Research Institute, autobahn signs
