Pan-African Short Film Competition

Procedure

The competition is carried out in two phases. These two phases are:

Phase 1 of the Pan-African Short Film Competition is a script writing competition. Calls for submissions of scripts are made on a national basis. Regional juries will select not less than three and not more than six scripts from each region. The scripts selected from each region will be forwarded to the continental competition. A continental jury will select a minimum of two and a maximum of four scripts from each region for production. The total number of scripts shall not exceed eighteen.

Phase 2 of the Pan-African Short Film Competition will involve the eighteen winners from Phase 1, the script writing competition. These winners will take part at a compulsory script writing workshop. The winners will receive further script doctoring support over a period of three months. At the end of that period the winners will be provided with a specified sum of production funds for the production of the submitted script.
