Still under shock from the sudden death of her beloved father, Melissa learns that her mother, whom she believes dead, is still alive. She has never come to know her mother. Gradually and against strong resistances she learns the truth. After a devastating fire, which disfigured her mother, her father repudiated her and declared her dead. Melissa sets out on a quest for her mother.
