European Media Art Festival - EMAF
Media Art Forum. Presents experimental films (worldwide, all lengths), video installations, multimedia performances. Organizes as well exhibitions and congresses. An "International Student Forum" presents tendencies at European media schools
The spectrum comprises "popular themes, formal experiments as well as provoking messages." (Festival)
Three prizes are presented: the "EMAF-Award" (for trendsetting works of media art), the "Dialogue Prize" given by the Foreign Ministry (for cultural exchange), and the Prize for the Best German Experimental Film.

In 2007, the festival celebrates its 20th anniversary. "Besides recent productions, we focus on reviews and outlooks. How did the digital technology change the artistic production? What are the consequences for distribution and marketing as well as for the reception?" (Festival).
