Shomingeki

A film journal for film lovers. Published, edited and marketed since 1995 by Rüdiger Tomczak. The title is drawn from Japanese cinema, and refers to the aesthetic of everyday, non-dramatic reality in film. The journal gives priority to Asian film, particularly Japanese film, but is also dedicated to such directors as Danièle Huillet and Jean-Marie Straub, Jean-Luc Godard or Olivier Assayas. Like all journals published for the love of the subject, shomingeki is above any attempt to keep up with current developments.
Editor: Rüdiger Tomczak.
Published privately at irregular intervals (about two to three times a year). A single issue costs €4.00 and a subscription (four issues) costs €14.00.
