Film About Ralf König Playing in German Cinemas en

When he was 17, comic artist Ralf König came upon a paperback book by Rosa von Praunheim entitled Sex und Karriere in a bookstore in Soest, Westphalia.

“I read about uninhibited sex and love encounters in New York’s leather scene, and studied political pamphlets assiduously, and I had the feeling it all had more to do with me than I was comfortable with,” as König later summed up the situation. He then began to draw – and became one of Germany’s best-known comic artists. .

In 2012, said Praunheim made a documentary film about Ralf König, now aged 51. The film König des Comics was shown at the Berlinale and was launched in German cinemas on February 23, 2012.
