Book tips for Gerhard Seyfried

Bullen, Bonzen und Berliner
Hamburg : Rotbuch Verl., 1998. 32 pages. ISBN 3880226814

Seyfried illustrates his image of the anarchic, chaotic reality of German politics and society with satirical sideswipes. No one and nothing is safe from his pointed pen. This book came out to mark twenty years of Seyfried’s career and contains a selection of his finest illustrations.

    Flucht aus Berlin
    Hamburg : Rotbuch Verl., 2002. 32 pages. ISBN 3880226814

Flucht aus Berlin, with its deeply black humour, parodies such events as the fall of Communism and the Berlin squatters’ scene. Lots of the details in Seyfried’s pictures only reveal themselves after repeated reading.
