Biography of Volker Reiche
- born in Belzig, Brandenburg, in 1944, grew up in Bavaria and Hessen
- studied Law, Staatsexamen in 1969
- dropped out of Law course, began drawing
- published first comic himself (Liebe)
- publication of the comic magazine Hinz & Kunz (with Bernd Pfarr, Tomas Bunk and Michael Gutmann
- animator for Disney and Asterix TV commercials
- from 1984, drew Mecki for HÖRZU (successor to Eduard Rhein)
- Since 2002 Volker Reiche has drawn the daily newspaper comic strip ‘Strizz’ in the Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung (FAZ)
Awards and Prizes:
- Reiche has twice held the Max and Moritz Prize awarded by the International Comic Salon, and he is an honorary member of the D.O.N.A.L.D.
- In 2007 he was awarded the Olaf Gulbransson Prize
