Born on 8th October 1964 in Frankfurt am Main



1983

School leaving exams in Odenwald. Lives in Montpellier in the South of France for two years, working as a waiter (amongst other occupations)

1986

Acting school in Berlin (interrupted studies)

1987

Authors’ Prize for German-language youth theatre from the federal state of Baden-Württemberg for his play Nazim schiebt ab (Nazim clears off)

 

1991

Film version of his novel Happy Birthday, Türke (Happy Birthday, Turk) directed by Dorris Dörrie

 

1992

German Crime Fiction Prize for Ein Mann, ein Mord (One man, one murder)
