Writes election speeches for SPD politician

Spokesman for the 1968 student uprising, along with Rudi Dutschke

 

1967 - 1971

Labourer for Bosch; teacher at the renowned Gabbes secondary school and freelancer with various public broadcasting services; refused internship training due to his political views

Begins working as a freelance writer

Villa Massimo scholarship

 

1984

Working Scholarship for Berlin writers

 

since 1985

Writer in Residence and guest lecturer at American universities including Stanford, Princeton, Dartmouth and Harvard

Fellow of the Woodrow Wilson Centre in Washington D.C.
