In 1968 the twelve-year-old Anna experiences an unusual summer in Leipzig.  Against the background of the planned bombing of the University Church, she realises that people who think differently are not wanted in East Germany.  Her everyday life at school, within her family and with her first boyfriend begins to spiral out of control.
