Martin Baltscheit

Martin Baltscheit was born in Munich in 1965. He studied communication design at the Folkwangschule für Gestaltung in Essen. Initially he drew comics before beginning to focus primarily on writing and illustrating children's books and picture books.
Among the first children's books that established his reputation were "Papa kuck mal!" (1995) and "Paul trennt sich" (1996). He continues to be active in many areas, including comics, illustration, acting, and writing children's books, prose works, radio plays and works for the theatre. Martin Baltscheit has received numerous awards for his work.
Today he lives with his family in Düsseldorf.
