Ralf Isau was born in Berlin-Tempelhof in 1956 and grew up in the West Berlin district of Britz. After completing secondary school he began training in the business sector, where he worked primarily as a programmer. After holding various positions in the computer industry he began working as an IT consultant in 1996. Ralf Isau began writing in 1988. He originally wrote "Der Drache Gertrud" as a gift for his daughter. However, thanks to Michael Ende's support, it became his first published book. Since then he has written more than 20 books for young readers of various ages that have been translated into 12 languages and selected for numerous awards. Ralf Isau now lives with his family near Stuttgart. |
