Charlotte Kerner

Charlotte Kerner was born in Speyer, Germany, in 1950. After studying economics and sociology in Mannheim she spent a year in Canada (1976) and a year in China (1978). Her experiences in China inspired her first book, "Jadeperle und großer Mut", on which she collaborated with a sinologist. Charlotte Kerner has worked exclusively as a writer and journalist since 1979.
She writes novels primarily for adolescent readers, often on the lives of women and on issues related to medicine, research and the sciences, and has received many awards for her works.
Since 1979 Charlotte Kerner has lived with her family in Lübeck, Germany.
