Heike Ellermann

Heike Ellermann was born in Colmar/Warthe in 1945. She studied teaching in Braunschweig, Tübingen and Oldenburg. After graduating from university she lectured and taught in the school system and in adult education, and was an assistant lecturer in the Communication/Aesthetics department at the University of Oldenburg. Since 1982 Heike Ellermann has worked as a freelance artist, photographer, children's author and an illustrator. In 1987 she had her first picture book published - "Ein Brief in der Kapuzinerkresse", and in 1986 she won the Oldenburg Youth Literature prize. Today, Heike Ellermann spends her time between Oldenburg, Germany and Languedoc, France.
