Norman Junge was born in Kiel in 1938 and now lives and works as an artist in Cologne. He first completed an apprenticeship as a typesetter before studying at the Werkkunstschule and Werkakademie (applied arts colleges) in Kassel. In addition to his work as an advertising graphic artist he draws illustrations for various magazines.
He has created many animated films for the popular children's programme "Sendung mit der Maus", a number of which he later turned into picture books. Norman Junge has frequently illustrated the works of Ernst Jandl und Christian Morgenstein. His book illustrations such as those in "Fünfter sein" by von Ernst Jandl have won many renowned awards.
