Jörg Müller

Jörg Müller was born in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1942 and grew up in Küsnacht, near Zurich. He attended the college of applied arts in Biel from 1960 until 1964 and subsequently worked in advertising as a graphic artist while illustrating books for young readers in his spare time. His breakthrough came in 1973 with his first picture folder, "Alle Jahre wieder saust der Presslufthammer nieder oder die Veränderung der Landschaft" (The Pneumatic Drill Descends Every Year or How the Landscape Is Changing).
He has produced many of his works, which often deal with themes of responsibility to the environment and to other people, in collaboration with the Swiss writer Jörg Steiner.
Jörg Müller has received many awards, including the Hans Christian Andersen Prize for his complete works in 1994.
Jörg Müller now lives in Biel and France.
