The Junges Schauspiel Hannover was set up in 2007. It is part of Schauspiel Hannover and the two sections share an ensemble. Its performance venues in the old city of Hanover are Ballhof Eins with 257 seats and Ballhof Zwei with 126 seats. Since the 2011/12 season, Florian Fiedler has been the director of the Junges Schauspiel. As the theatre’s general director, he also stages performances on the large stage of the Schauspielhaus. The programme includes both new, fresh works and classics.

From the beginning, the Junges Schauspiel Hannover has made its mark through its work with young people. In particular, its annual projects in cooperation with its main sponsor, enercity, are outstanding. The “Ballklang” concert series also stages international bands each month, and pupils and young people curate their own programme of events at the self-administered Ballhof Café.

The Junges Schauspiel’s theatre education sessions are targeted both at schools and teachers, and at students and young people who would like to discover the theatre. They can make theatre themselves, preparing productions with professional instruction at the “Balljugend“ youth club which are then performed to audiences in Ballhof Zwei.
