Born at Schaffhausen in 1976. After completing high school he studied at Berne from 1997 and at the same time worked as a dramaturge in Swiss professional and amateur theatres. Andri Beyeler participated in the 2nd Interplay Europe Festival of Young Playwrights at Berlin in 1998, and in the Wolfenbüttel Dramatists Workship in 2000. During the 2002-3 season he was the house author at Mannheim’s Nationaltheater and in 2003-4 at Stuttgart’s Staatstheater. His “The killer in me is the killer in you my love” was first presented in a workshop staging at Hamburg’s Thalia Theater during the 2002 Authors Theatre Days and then premiered there a little later.
