Jan Neumann was born in 1975 in Munich. After studying drama at the August Everding Bavarian Theatre Academy, he was employed as an actor at the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel in Munich and then, from the autumn of 2001, the Schauspiel Frankfurt in Frankfurt am Main, where he also staged his first play goldfischen. Neumann has worked as a freelance actor, director and author since the 2006/2007 season.
