Born in Paderborn on 22 February 1974. Grew up in Stuttgart. 1994-1996 Studied Political Science at Vienna University. 1996 directorial jobshadowing at Stuttgart Staatstheater under Elmar Goerden. 1996-2000 assistant director at Schauspielhaus Vienna, the Vienna Festival and at Vidy Theatre Lausanne.

She made her directorial debut in 1999 with the “Belgrade Trilogy” by Biljana Srbljanovic at Rabenhof Vienna. In 2001 and 2002 she was represented with productions at the steirischer herbst in Graz. Since 2002 she has been one of the young directors under Dieter Dorn at the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel Munich.

For her production of Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s “Water Drops on Burning Rocks”, which she performed in July 2002 on the secondary stage of the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel in Munich’s Haus der Kunst, she was awarded the 2003 Gertrud Eysoldt Prize for young directors in Bensheim.

In the same year she was voted best young director in the critics’ survey of the journal “Theater heute”. In 2003 she worked at the Deutsches Theater in Berlin for the first time, her first production at Stuttgart Staatstheater followed in 2004.
