The Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft (Donors’ Association for the Promotion of the Sciences and Humanities in Germany) is a joint initiative by German commerce – with some 3,000 companies, business associations and private individuals as members – to promote science and young scientists. It develops programmes and supports initiatives aimed at solving structural problems in universities and the world of science – this includes the further development of German, for example as a language of science.
