The protection and preservation of language
On November 09, 2006 the Goethe-Institut Lisbon is organising an international conference on "The protection and preservation of language". The overarching question is this: how do the various countries preserve, protect and maintain their own language in the face of the various threats, developments and problems? Participants will start by outlining the situation in their country, go on to look at language policy in terms of domestic and foreign policy, and then draw conclusions.
The project’s partners are the Portuguese Education Ministry, the Luxembourg Embassy, the Swiss Embassy, the Adida de Cooperação Educativa, the Instituto Italiano de Cultura and the Instituto Cervantes.
