Requirements

The Goethe-Institut examinations are available to all interested parties and can be taken regardless of your age or nationality.

To take the Goethe-Zertifikat C2: Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung it is recommended that you are 16 years of age or over.

The Goethe-Zertifikat C2: Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung requires knowledge of the German language at the sixth level of competence (C2) laid down by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Teaching units

In order to achieve this level of competence, you will need 1,000 to 1,200 45-minute teaching units, depending on your previous knowledge and learning requirements.

Preparation

If you think that you meet the language requirements, then you can enrol for an exam at any time. We recommend that you participate in one of our preparatory courses, however. During these courses, you will be taught language and examination-specific skills that will make it as easy as possible for you to pass the exam.
