Level A2 – Lesson 36

Ludwig van Beethoven

Paula and Philipp have so far not managed to find out much about the student called Beethoven. But much more interesting is the life of the real Ludwig van Beethoven. For this reason there is a radio play which looks at the life of the German composer. A particularly well-known work is the song “Ode to Joy” from 1824. Sadly Beethoven could not hear his own music as he had been completely deaf since 1819.
