Music – Promotion of Amateur and Young Musicians

In the fields of choirs, amateur and youth ensembles as well as new talent the Goethe-Institut promotes the representation of German music abroad and exchange programmes with other countries by means of the following:

• guest performance tours and exchange schemes
• participation in international music competitions abroad
• music-related educational projects in developing and transition countries
• guest performance tours in Germany by music ensembles from developing and transition countries
• information tours and further training courses in Germany for foreign musicians
• international youth music exchange, under the auspices of the Kinder- und Jugendplan des Bundes (Child and Youth Plan of the Federation)

Furthermore the "Unit for the promotion of Amateur and Young Musicians" section is also in charge of organising the annual auditions for the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) in cooperation with the German Music Council.
