Application Information

Prerequisites:

• EU citizenship
• High level of musical training
• Proven orchestra experience
• Age: 14 – 24 years inclusive

Selection process in Germany:

• The auditions are held in two rounds. All candidates who are trying out for the EUYO for the first time and have never qualified for the second round in a previous audition must take part in the first round of auditions.
  In the first round, each contestant must perform an excerpt from a concerto or solo piece of their own choosing without piano accompaniment as well as a selection of orchestral extracts.
  The list of orchestral extracts is included in the application documents.
• In the second round, each contestant must play an excerpt from a concerto or solo piece of their own choosing (the same piece as in the first round), though this time, if appropriate, with piano accompaniment. The selection of orchestral extracts is again required (the same ones as in the first round).
• The piano accompanists for the second round are provided.
