Funding of guest performance tours in Germany

Only ensembles from developing and transition countries whose economic situation prevents them from paying the costs of international travel themselves can be funded for their tour of Germany.

These tour visits are to serve the following purposes:

  • the promotion of a global dialogue of cultures and the development of intercultural competence
  • the promotion of an independent cultural sector in developing countries
  • the integration of minorities in the international cultural dialogue
Projects involving both professional ensembles and artists, amateur and youth ensembles as well as new talent can be funded.

Commercial guest performances and benefit events are excluded from the funding programme.

The funding is to cover international transport costs.

Any applications for financial support will be rejected.

N.B.: Projects already begun, i.e. for which (e.g. flight) reservations have already been made, are generally ineligible for funding. So before making any firm reservations, you should submit an informal application for so-called “advance project commencement”, along with three travel expense estimates, at least six months before the project begins, if possible. Acceptance of an application for “advance project commencement” does not constitute a firm commitment to fund the project.
