Triumphant Temporary Solution
The earthquake of 2010 took a major toll on the Goethe-Institut in Chile – yet also brought it a special honour. Its temporary home set up by FAR frohn&rojas architectural offices on an unfinished story of an office building was so well received by experts that it was awarded the prize for architecture by the Deutsches Architekturmuseum. The jury was particularly impressed that the project was implemented using simple means and a small budget. Some of the furnishings will now move into the old building following its renovations.
